Third Residents Review Course : Oct 22 - 25 , 1998

The 3^rd residents’ review course was held from Oct 22-25 , 1998. This year the program was stretched to 3 and ¾ days to accommodate more speakers and topics.

The registration stretched to 317 – this year we allowed upto 50 consultants to attend, to help defray some of the costs. This programs saw many firsts.

We started poster exhibits on various topics by the residents. This was appreciated and will now be a regular feature. We also started the "REF scholarships" . Two scholars were decided on the basis of a quiz, conducted by Dr. Prashant Shetty (link to ind profile) which ran for three days, starting with written eliminations on Thursday evening, semi-finals on Friday evening and finals on Saturday evening. Dr. Sanjeeva Prasad and Dr. Roy D’Souza won the first and second prize respectively. Sanjeeva won a free full-expenses paid trip to the RSNA (link www.rsna.org) conference in Nov 1999 and Roy, a full-expenses paid trip to the IRIA national conference at Bhopal, in Jan 2000. We also had delegates from Nepal and Sri Lanka.
