This is a 70-years old lady with fever. USG showed splenic masses.
The CT scan showed multiple splenic lesions. After placing her in an oblique position, and scanning her with contrast, the biopsy of one of the larger lesions was performed with an 18G coaxial biopsy gun to get enough material, given that lymphoma was the leading diagnosis.
She had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
This is just to show that not all splenic biopsies are a challenge, though like with the earlier patient (https://www.instagram.com/p/B-hN7R0pjxM/), who had complications, we do have to be careful and we must make sure that the patient’s INR is < 1.5 and platelets more than 100,000 and she is not on anti-coagulants.
