This is a 65 years old lady with hematuria.

The CT scan showed a classic arterially enhancing 2.0 cm nodule in the lateral cortex of the lower pole of the right kidney. This is characteristic of a renal cell carcinoma, but the urologist and the patient wanted confirmation before planning partial resection.

The biopsy was simple, in the prone position, using a 20G coaxial biopsy gun. The diagnosis was, as expected, renal cell carcinoma.
